Teacher Code of Conduct

Last Updated on 28 December, 2020

This Teacher Code of Conduct and Class Policy (these “Codes of Conduct”) applies to any user who wishes to list Classes and provide Teacher Services through the LEARN Anytime Anywhere website (the “Services”). These Codes of Conduct are prepared to help you summarise the most important points while teaching a Class on the Services. Please, read more about these Codes of Conduct and the definition of certain capitalised terms under our general Terms and Conditions and Teacher Policy

1. Codes of Conduct

  1. Attend all Classes and Arrive on Time

LEARN Anytime Anywhere expects all Teachers to attend Classes at the scheduled time responsibly. This is because the Students may have schedules for other activities outside of the Classes. Therefore, you should do well to provide any scheduled Class at the appropriate time.

If a Class starts more than 5 minutes late or ends more than 5 minutes early, Parents can request to receive a 50% refund if less than half of the Class was missed, and a full refund if more than half was missed.

  1. Be Professional and Empathetic

Students come from different backgrounds and have different language levels; it is important to be supportive and empathetic when helping them through their learning difficulties. Encourage, support and give them confidence!

Always remember to maintain a high level of professionalism:

  • Be prompt in replying to all Parents'/Students' questions, messages and Class requests;

  • Actively manage your profile and try to minimise rescheduling or cancelling Class requests;

  • Take the initiative in communicating with and managing Students. Please, make every effort to help them. Always be patient and polite to help them learn better;

  • Provide a suitable learning environment for Students, which includes proper lighting, the quietness of the room and fast internet speed;

  • Respect Student’s privacy; and

  • Be available to teach during the entire booked Class time even if a Student is late.

  1. Be Culturally Sensitive

Respect Students' values and traditions. Stereotypical assumptions might make Students feel offended.

Try avoiding particularly, the following topic in your discussions:

  • Politics;

  • Marital status; and

  • Religions.

Equality should be kept in mind. Students should be treated with love and care no matter the culture they belong to and practice. Teachers' being biased on age, disability, religion, race, sexual orientation, gender or any other characteristics are not acceptable on the Services.

  1. Be a good LEARN Anytime Anywhere Ambassador

Maintain a positive attitude towards LEARN Anytime Anywhere and never make negative comments about LEARN Anytime Anywhere or the Services.

2. Prohibited Activities

The following actions are not permitted on the Services and may lead to your user account being suspended, limited or deactivated at our discretion:

  • Any form of solicitation, including taking Students or other Teachers off of the Services in order to accept payments off the Services or start a similar business;

  • Promoting any services that compete with another user or the Services;

  • Engaging in spamming, disrespectful language, obscenities, theft of personal information, etc. (learn more under our Community Policy);

  • Providing or posting false, misleading or inaccurate information (this includes your profile, information in the teacher application form and qualification, class content, history, feedback, etc.); or

  • Posting private contact information, which includes social media accounts and channels, email addresses, phone numbers, blogs, websites, IDs and usernames.

3. Class Policy

LEARN Anytime Anywhere wishes to ensure clarity so that Teachers and Students can have positive experience connecting. We want all users to be respectful and considerate of each other, and we want to encourage the behaviours as described in the Class policy below:

  1. Start your Teacher Services on time

Start any Class at the time scheduled. Parents can request for a 50-100% refund should you be late or end a Class early.

  1. Wait for your late Student

If a Student is late, be available to teach during the entire booked Class time. However, you are not expected to make up for Class time lost due to Student tardiness and are not required to continue the Class beyond the official end time.

  1. Reschedule due to Students’ absence

If a Student fails to attend a Class, it is your right to be paid in full. However, if the Student had an accident, an emergency or there was an honest misunderstanding, you can choose to allow the Student to reschedule. Refer to our Teacher’s Guide to learn about how to reschedule a Class for any Student.

  1. End all Classes on time

Politely let Students know that their Classes are ending by reminding them before the end of the Class time.

  1. Resolve Class problems by keeping records

If there are any problems, we hope you and the Student(s) can resolve such problems informally. If there is a problem that requires LEARN Anytime Anywhere’s mediation, we will refer only to the communication that pre-exists between you and the Parent/Student through the Services.

4. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

A confirmed Class is a commitment you make with a Student. Reschedule or cancel as a last resort and only after you have communicated this with your Student(s).

  • If the Teacher misses a one-time Class, the Parent/Student will receive a full refund of the Enrollment Fee.

  • If a Class start time is rescheduled by the Teacher, the Parent/Student will have the option to request a refund of the Enrollment Fee or a transfer to another Class.

  • If a part of a Class is rescheduled by the Teacher, the Parent/Student will have the option to request a refund of a pro-rated refund based on the number of meetings that were rescheduled that the Student cannot attend or a transfer to another Class.

  • If the Teacher does not teach the number of meetings in the Class Contract, the Parent/Student will receive a pro-rated refund.
