Meet Our Teachers!

  • Hi! My name is Mrs. Rachel, and I can not wait to meet you and your family! I teach a variety of life skills, crafting, social skills, psychology, science, and anatomy classes. I believe that children learn best in an interactive group setting, and I use a variety of creative techniques to ensure each class allows your learner to engage with the class material in a hands on manner.

I am a pediatric occupational therapist working with children with developmental or acquired disabilities ages 4 months to 21 years in north Texas. I have a master's degree in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas A&M University (Gig 'Em!). As an occupational therapist, I provide skilled treatment to help a child or teen progress his or her life skills to meet individualized goals. Treatment sessions could be anything from working on using both hands and scissor skills by making a pumpkin craft, to following directions by cooking macaroni and cheese, to developing social and counting skills by playing a board game. I specialize in making life skills fun, and a few of my patients call me “the fun doctor” (our clinic looks like a doctor’s office) because they enjoy therapy so much.

I am passionate about making learning fun, and I have taught a variety of classes: handwriting, aquatic science, head start, crafting, and life skills to name a few. I am here to best serve your student's learning needs, so my lessons will include hands on activities in addition to visual and auditory information. If your learner has special learning needs, please contact me in advance and I will be happy to accommodate! If you have any questions regarding my classes, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to seeing you in class!

  • As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) my objective is to work alongside children in a fun and interactive way, addressing all aspects of learning and development. I believe that learning should spark a child's interest and allow their creativity to be expressed in their own way.
I like to apply my skills to support children’s learning by being engaged with them, inspire learning through offering a creative approach, interesting materials, and listen carefully to facilitate the children’s exploration.
I believe strongly in encouraging each child to feel confident in their abilities and help them see they can achieve whatever they set their mind to.

  • My name is Shannon and I am a qualified Drama and English teacher from Australia. In 2017 my family and I (my husband and two teenage sons), sold everything we owned to travel the world and learn from all that it has to offer. We are currently based in Vietnam and I am teaching English online.
I graduated university with a Bachelor of Creative Arts Honours in Theatre 1994 and since that time have been working as a professional actor, director and teacher. I also hold a Graduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching (Secondary) as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I have both an Advanced and Professional TESOL Certificate and hold an International English Teaching Licence as well as an Australian teaching license.
In 2004 I started my own Theatre school called TheatreMax, offering drama classes and productions for ages 3 through to adults and my background in Theatre translates into my English teaching style. My teaching focus is very much student led and interest driven with a focus on creativity, storytelling and confidence building. I also homeschool (or worldschool as we are travelling!) my two boys and believe in people following their passions, trying, failing and then trying again.
I have extensive experience working with students with both physical and intellectual disabilities and have worked as a classroom teacher in Australian high school mainstream and support units. Fun fact, in the 90’s I used to travel around Australia dressed up as a purple fluffy creature called Tickle the Doodat for a children’s group called The Hooley Dooleys. I am an accomplished script writer and have been commissioned to create productions for community groups around such issues as pollution and bullying. I have worked with many community and school groups of various ages and nationalities and in various countries to devise performances for cultural and arts festivals.
No matter what class of mine you choose you will develop your creativity and confidence and have fun!
Please note that all my classes require a minimum of three students to run and can be scheduled at a time to suit you. Contact me to arrange a class today!

  • It is an honour to have the opportunity to share my passion of dance with today’s youth. I have trained in dance since the age of 3 and have competed and performed professionally in various dance styles. Competing at a high level of dance has taught me a certain type of discipline that has greatly impacted my growth as a young woman and entrepreneur.

Growing up, I was able to experience the hard work and dedication required to be a successful businessperson through my mother who owns our family run childcare facility, as well as through my elder sister who is a elementary school teacher. Through them, I have been able to understand first hand, the fundamental and advanced aspects of the Ontario Education Curriculum, and it is my ultimate goal to enrich your curriculum through cultural and diverse dance programs.

As a former ambassador of Canada, I have represented Canada on an international level in a host of different talent competitions in Thailand, China, and Ecuador, and have worked with multiple charities focused on youth development such as Camp Jamoke, Special Olympics, Rotary Club and Operation Smile. As an avid traveler, I have gathered traditional cultural items from around the globe to bring culture to life during our dance workshops. The overall mission behind Get Low dance Co. is to spread awareness of fitness, wellness, and culture, through dance.

I enjoy creating programs that are accessible to children of all ages and dance ability, being able to give students the opportunity to participate in a dance experience like no other. Dance creates an environment where students from all cultures and backgrounds can come together and work as a team. Through dance, even the shyest of children come out of their shells and shine which gives them the freedom to explore and create through movement and rhythm.

One of the most rewarding moments as an instructor is when I hear that parents have put their children into dance classes because they have discovered their child's newfound talent and love of dance through our workshops.

In the early years of this company, I had the wonderful experience of working with a young boy with autism.
In class, he kept mostly to himself and had difficulty interacting with other students. Yet, through our dance programs, he found something he really enjoyed and he actively took part in all aspects of the programs.
He was able to develop the self-confidence he needed and learned to work as part of a team. It is so incredible to see how dance lightens up their lives before our eyes which in return lighting up my life!

These success stories are what this company is built on!
